Back to school..... are you ready? Well, it's here! Next week all students in our districts (27J and 14) will be back at school and ready to learn their cute little mind off. This is the first year all three will be gone all day, it's official... I might just cry (while jumping with excitement) ... I think it'll be a bit more difficult than I'm expecting... but I'd imagine I will get A LOT more done. Right?? Well, with that, it's time to really step back and embrace the moment for what it is. Our kids are growing up and learning to become their own person, how can I support them in this? How can I leave the control in their hands without losing mine? How do I know when to listen or just talk? It's the start of something new for all of us, and I for one, can't wait to see how it plays out!

What's happening this week? A lot! In case you haven't checked out our event calendar, it's right here and updated daily! To give you an idea, just from today until next Tuesday, we have: DIY Kids Workshops, meteor shower dates and tips, eclipse info and special events for viewing, you can make a donation to the RMHC hygiene fundraiser at the Prairie Center McDonalds, which ends the 11th of August. There are wacky holidays listed, events at Anythink Library, an Outdoor Mentors Event at Barr Lake, Tinkergarten free trial class and so much more. If you know of something not listed, please submit it to our calendar at no charge here! We;re always looking for new ways to support local event planners and businesses so please list them as you host!
Safety Binder: Last year I made this crazy-awesome family binder there you can put in child emergency info, family escape routes, emergency preparedness plans, etc. Well... it's done and all ready for you to print and use. Interested? I plan to have it loaded on the site within the week (it takes time) but if you want a copy emailed to you beforehand, let me know and I'll send it your way!
