A Note From Your Publisher - September

Happy (almost) September!! 

We have an excellent newsletter for you this week! Typically it comes out on Wednesdays but given the amount of stuff going on in our area and the stuff I wanted to say, I waited a day... :)

1. ​Macaroni Kid Acts of Kindness Day: On Saturday, September 16, 2017, more than fifty Macaroni Kid Publishers are coming together to Make a Difference in their communities and included in this amazing national day will be a Balloon of Kindness hosted by Macaroni Kid Brighton, Henderson & Reunion. On September 16, we will be filling and tying/distributing balloons in our community! Each one will have a positive affirmation attached and an idea on how they can pay it forward! We'd love your help with this and your kids' too! :) Our goal is to distribute at least 500 balloons so if you can donate to the cause, let me know, and thank you! 🎈 We are proud to be a part of this annual nationwide celebration. Last year Macaroni Kid Publishers came together to raise over $20,000 for local charities, 35,000 diapers were donated, hundreds of kids signed anti-bullying pledges and the list goes on. We are honored to use our reach in over 600 communities nationwide, include the community and show Acts of Kindness in so many ways. #MKAOK
   
2. Back-to-School Lunch Ideas: I NEED SOME! Please, guys, email me your best school lunch ideas that your kids love! Mine are tired of sandwiches and we're in a nut-free school. Once I get a great list together I'll compile an article to share with you all!
3. Car-nival Palooza is COMING SOON to the Brighton Rec Center and it's time to sign up with your amazingly decorated car! Macaroni Kid will be there and hope you will, too! The Rec is seeking local businesses, nonprofits, teams and citizens, and volunteers needing service hours to enter its Car-nival Palooza! The Car-nival Palooza is an annual event where community members trunk-or-treat and enjoy cars decorated in costumes. There is no charge to bring a car but a donated bag of candy is requested. 4. Free Safety Binder! It's the perfect time of year to get things in order for your household. What better way to do that then with a Family Safety Binder? Use these conversation starters as a jumping off point to come up with a family plan for emergencies, and for talking about being safe at home, school and in the community.
