The City of Brighton has opened its fourth annual Big Little Idea contest to Brighton community members!
The Big Little Idea contest is a city-sponsored contest that will award $750 each to four citizens, nonprofits or teams, to create and implement ideas to make Brighton a better place to live, work, play and learn. Brighton residents are encouraged to show their love for Brighton through their ideas. In past years, the contest generated a variety of impressive ideas and action from the community including painted traffic signal boxes, field trips to Barr Lake, a little library, a downtown mural and a greenhouse.
Big Little Idea contest timeline:
February 1 – Contest opens to the public
April 1 – Submission deadline
April 9 – Judging week
May 1 – Winners will be recognized at City Council meeting
December 18 – Completion of project due
The four winners will be chosen by a judging panel consisting of city council members, a youth commission member, and appointed city staff. Winners will be selected based on the criteria for originality, connection to the community, and creativity.
